1199 Swing Arm Pivot Bolts

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Kage, Apr 25, 2019.

  1. As I like to tinker, I decided to fit a 1199 swing arm to my 899. I have been fortunate to be in a position to obtain one at a very good price, so thought I'd go for it.
I have a question about the pivot bolts. The swing arm came with the bolts that attach through the swing arm and into the engine case. The right side bolt had a cup washer which sits between the inside of the swing arm and the engine casing. Screwing the right hand side bolt down results in a snug fit.
Now, I just wanted to check that the left hand side doesn't have any washers like the right hand side, as I didn't receive one with the used swing arm i purchased. I ask as there seems to be a gap between the inner part of the pivot mount and the engine case. The bolt has a step, so cannot be tightened to pull the swing arm any closer to the engine casing. I am assuming this is the correct way to fit the swing arm??
Thanks in advance for any helpful responses.

  4. Thanks for that Nelly.
I just need to check that items 5 are in place. It looks like they sit inside the pivot hole along with items 6.
    Regards
