Hi everyone i just wanted to know I have replaced the battery on my 1199 and I had it on trickle charge from the terminal under the passenger seat and my new battery has gone flat while on charge can anyone help? Not sure if I’m doing something wrong
Which terminal did you connect it to? photos help, and are you certain the trickle charger is actually working? Finally is it just a trickle charger or a proper battery optimiser eg Optimate, Noco? The former will continually trickle charge into the battery regardless of the battery’s condition, the latter will monitor the battery’s condition and only provide charge when required. In a situation where the charger is continually putting a charge into the battery then over time - several weeks - the battery gets too hot, the acid evaporates through the breather and as the acid level drops the battery can no longer hold the full charge leading to a dead or weak battery.
