Hi guys, Ive a 2012 1199s which is just switching off wile riding then flashing engine light then all lights on the dash and sometimes not starting, tho when it does start an run only drives a short distance then just goes dead wile just driving along an bringing on flashing engine light again. Anyone encouter anything like this before ?
I had something similar on a 959 and it turned out to be a wiring plug connector for the ignition that was connected but not quite clicked together fully. Over time the vibrations started to work it apart and I had intermittent issues. Took quite a while to track it down. It would be a coincidence for it to be exactly the same connector but it sounds like you have a wiring issue. First thing I would do is strip the fairings off and start checking for damage or loose connections. Does the dash give you any more error messages?
i fitted a new battery and it done about 20mile before it quit again an done the same thing. Bike is kept on a genuine ducati trickle charger at all times and i also charged the old battery and new battery and they are reading fully charged. No other warning lights are on. Same light everytime just. Strange how it runs with no issues then it just quits ?
