1200r Monster Fan Warning Light ,

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by VINNIE, May 14, 2024.

  1. I was out on Saturday for a ride and after being stuck in a queue for a while i noticed the fan warning light had come on . I got back and run the bike up on tickover ,and when the bike got to 103 deg c the warning light came on and neither fan worked .
I checked fuses etc ,which were all good ,fans are free to spin so i am wondering if anybody has any ideas ?

  2. just had a quick search, although it seems a common problem often related on Forums, i can't find anyone who's bothered to add the solution when found. I think I would try re-seating all fuses/connectors related, including ECU first.

  3. Thank you Chris ,
When i do get to the bottom of it, i will put the what the problem was on here ,

  4. I have picked up the bike today from Louigi Moto ,so here is a update on what they found ,for future reference ,

After testing back from the fans ,they pinpointed the fault to a fuse box ,which after stripping the box out ,they found corrosion where the wires entered the box ,interestingly ,the manual shows two fuse boxes ,the fault was found on a third fuse box down near the battery box .So if it had been a fuse ,you would not be able to change it as you would have had no idea that the third fuse box existed !
