I’m sure this question has been asked before, but I can’t find it. The huge, and most likely stupidly heavy CAT/Silencer on my 2019 1260 Multistrada Enduro is in quite a state. One of my jobs for the next couple of months is to take it off, properly clean it up, and repaint it. But it’s got me thinking I could look out for a used aftermarket system in the meantime to save a bit of weight and my time refinishing the original. But obviously 1260 Enduros are not overly common, and many aftermarket suppliers don’t even list them. The bike is already fitted with a ‘Flap eliminator Gizmo’ so that’s not an issue. But the question of course is: Is the 1260 Enduro exhaust unique, or can I consider those advertised for other Multistradas? Looking at part numbers doesn’t help as if Ducati change the paint colour slightly they also change the part number. The 1260 and 1200 Enduro are of course blessed with conventional double sided swingarms, so that could mean other (normal) MS exhausts might not fit? Could it be that the exhaust from a 950/V2 etc with similar swingarm will fit? Are the 1200 Enduro and 1260 Enduro sufficiently different that a 1200 Exhaust won’t fit a 1260? As I’m quite good with a cutting disc and welder, could it just be the bracket position that means a 1200 Enduro exhaust won’t fit a 1260 Enduro? Could it just be the bracket position that means a 1200 or 1260 normal exhaust won’t fit a 1260 Enduro? Etc. Does anyone have any real world knowledge of the differences or challenges I’d face doing any of the above? Thanks .
Evening Nasher, I've recently been through this looking for a decat pipe for a 1260 Enduro. I ended up buying a cheap Chinese stainless one but so far so good. The differences I came across between a 1250S and the Enduro were the length and angle of the outlet to the silencer and the placement of the bracket and stopper for the centre stand (I believe it's longer on an Enduro, but I haven't measured them). I couldn't find a 1260 specific decat pipe, so took a punt on a 1200 Enduro one, and she fits well enough with a bit of persuasion. I suspect that was production variations rather than model specific differences. The standard Enduro silencer sits a bit higher and tighter than the 1200/1260S ones, but then you look at a Termi and it looks higher and tighter than the stock S silencer. I genuinely think a 1200 Enduro exhaust would fit, but you'd be grafting a bit to get the non Enduro stuff sitting in the right place. If you could find someone with a non Enduro cat you could borrow, you'd be able to see any differences straight away I assume. Apologies for not really helping with regards you actual questions, more just confirming your train of thought.
Stephen hi. That's great, many thanks. At least the 1200 Enduro is listed on the aftermarket sites if I do splash out on a new one. But I can now pounce on any that pop up used.
