1299 Speed Sensor

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Adam Bell, Feb 12, 2023.

  1. Morning troops

Started my 1299s this morning, not been started for a couple of months at least and ran it up to temp.
Bike is sat on its paddock stand and I clicked it into first and ran it for a few seconds , then into 2nd and a speed sensor fault code came up.
Sport icon is flashing as well.
Said DEC on it as well.

Any ideas on what it might be? It's going for a service this month and an MOT.

    Cheers

  2. It’s because one wheel is moving at a different speed to the other.

  3. Ive had the same thing happen a few times when I run my 1299 up on the paddock stands, just as bettes said its because the rear wheel is going round but the front is not and the wheel speed sensors wonder whats going on. When you turn it off just leave it for a good 15 minutes and it should reset itself, failing that try disconnecting the battery for about 15 mins and that should get rid of it. It will log a code though so if you ever have a different problem and get the codes read it will show up as I think 'wheel speed sensor', just so you dont go replacing parts you dont need to in the future.
