I have just put termi slip ons on bike and purchased the t800 upmap but I can't find any info on install uploading the maps etc. Does anyone have a through,or done this before and has any tips? I don't even know if you have to keep the t800 plugged in after instal?. There is such a little amount out there on this system any help is gratefully received .
This is what happened when I installed the Termi upmap on my Supersport. You get a dongle and a cable to attach it to the diagnostic port and that's it. No written instructions whatsoever! You will firstly need to install the UpMap on your phone and create an account. I had already done so. Then connect the dongle to the bike, switch on the ignition and open the app. You are asked to log in and you have to follow the instructions on the screen. Firstly it will do a firmware update. This takes about 12 minutes. You are then prompted to buy a map using the promo code TERMIGIFT which allows you to download the first map free. Immediately after this I would recommend you go to PROFILE where you will find your bikes details listed and click on "Download OEM map". This will transfer a copy of the OEM map to the dongle and after you have done this there is an option to restore. I don't know if the app will allow you to overwrite the installed map but I wouldn't like to risk it. Then select "MAPS" and choose to install the one you have just "bought", it will be the only one there. This is where things went wrong for me. When I clicked install I got a message saying "Checking requirements in progress. Wait..." After 20 minutes of this with just the occasional flash from the blue LED on the dongle I figured that it just wasn't happening. So I aborted it and checked that the bike would still run. I was relieved that it did. This morning I tried again with the same result. So called BR Special Tuning to ask what was going on. James reckoned that possibly Termi's server was down making the MAP unavailable. After I came off the phone I gave it another try and this time the checking message came up for barely a second then I got a progress bar and a message saying "Installing map to device". This took 3 or 4 minutes then another message came up with "Configuring map" which took another 3 or 4 minutes. I then had to switch off and on again and the dash now briefly say "EVO" at switch on. You do not need to keep the dongle connected once the upmap is loaded. Hope that helps.
