Serviced by Luigi Moto (same location as Chris CJS). Very thorough job, very knowledgable team and thoroughly recommended. Might be placebo effect but I'm sure it's running even sweeter now. Price was on a par with DUK but I'm convinced they go the extra mile which makes it worth it IMHO. Roll on summer sunshine.
Belt service, all hydraulics, plugs, oil etc came to just north of £700. Riders quoted me "about £700" but having spent 3/4 of a day in Luigi's company while Chris weaved his magic I got to see how they work and was suitably impressed. Richard is a top bloke, he and his team know ducati's inside out so I've no qualms over the costs.
I am thinking that seems a lot of money? My belts were done separately to the annual service, but were less than £200. The "service" was free as part of the fact my bike was off the road for 6 months waiting for new cylinder heads, but I doubt the oil and fluids change would be £500? Does the Desmo system have to be stripped/shimmed at 15k to explain the costs?
My local dealer quoted circa £700 and that's what I ended up parting with. I don't fancy travelling to the 4 corners although £450 is quite a bit cheaper. As I said, more than happy with the care and attention lavished on my toy by Luigi Moto.
It's an obscene amount of money to pay for a service on a bike !! And if people are prepared to pay it the dealers and others will charge it, think I would sell rather than paying that amount
Tbh I thought that's what they cost everywhere, dealer quoted that each time I spoke to them. Granted I didn't research enough and you're right, it is a lot of money, I just figured I'd rather spend it there than at the dealers for reasons discussed already.
Assuming your Multi is a 1200, the major service, 5 years or 15000 miles, is about the price you paid and is a fixed "menu" price at a dealer. All the servicing costs and what service does what is displayed for all customers to see at my dealer so I am a little surprised at the surprise at the cost. Knew exactly what the bike was going to cost long term before I agreed to buy it and I budget a fixed amount each month for the next years costs especially as I retire in about 6 months and don't intend to stop riding. Mine was £520 for it's 15,000 belt service but valves didn't need doing!! So will be higher if they do due to longer labour time.
Leave the man alone, he's happy with what he paid and he's delighted with the service he got! Enjoy riding rivets!
alfa 156, full service, sparkplugs not required, intermittent wiper fault (switching on by them self) genuine wiper motor fitted. stored for a fortnight while customer on holiday £340 customer not happy never been back. you just cant win sometimes.
The Duke is actually reasonable on running costs. Remember, 7.5 and 15 k apart. Typical Honda or Suzuki every 4k. Yamaha 6k. Makes a big difference. My 7.5k service including new Pirelli Angel GT tyres £450. Happy enough Basic oil and filter on R1 a few years back was £200
My GSXR 750 was every 3000 miles!! GS1200 is every 6000. So Ducati Multi at every 7500 seems pretty good.
