15k Service On The 848

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Benvstheworld, Mar 29, 2016.

  1. is coming very soon.

Now I've had a few people say that it'll be expensive and then others argue that it's overpriced and easily doable by a smaller garage.

Me being mechanically inept have no idea so I'm not sure.

I'm being quoted around average 500-600 and then others saying it should only be 200-300.

    Any ideas

  2. i guess that doesn't include the shims. i was £350 for a second annual that included the belts.

  3. 15k Service is belts and shims so you would be looking around the 500/600 mark

  4. has the bike reached 15k? if not you wouldn't necessarily need the shims doing.

  5. £200 - 300 will possibly just cover the belts and maybe shims at a reputable garage. If you also want the full 15k service then yes, 5 to 600 I am afraid, all fluids/ filters etc. Not cheap.

  6. Where are you based Ben? The garage that services my bikes is £250 plus parts, which I always supply. They are in Hertfordshire.

  7. Mines due a 7.5k soon which is the same service/valve clearance I think. Also belts are due anyway and I was quoted £550 from local dealer. A little more if they require adjustment.
I actually thought it was quite cheap!
Hearing people talk of it being the biggy and an expensive job etc I was expecting near double that price! No idea why mind you ha.

  8. Ok, Just had the 15k service done (1098). Budget for around the £800 area!

  9. Ben, you could have a chat with Nelly at Cornerspeed. He's not far from you, and he always does a great job:
