Evening all, Just wondering if I bought a speedo that goes to 160mph for my 748 will it work. No, I’m not aiming for 160! Just wondering if there is anything different other than top end? Mine currently has kph clock on.
As long as it has the same ratio and fitment then it would be OK. I replaced the Kmh speedo on my Guzzi with an MPH speedo from another Guzzi model, it's a 140mph speedo where original UK supplied Le Mans had a 160mph speedo. However the ratio is the same and I really don't think it needs the extra 20mph? - they notoriously over-read but not by that much! Similarly I doubt a 748 is going to be bouncing the needle on the stop. BTW The Guzzi speedo has the ratio stamped on the rear of the casing and it matched that of the original, I've not noticed if Ducati do the same?
