just a quickie ...oooh err ..... well do they fit ? is there a benefit ??? ......had a hooooooooooooge slide coming off a roundabout yesters , now it was probably rainbow coloured stuff but feck me i shat ....big w/sbk save it like a pro feet off the pegs moment...eeeeeeeeeeek anyway im looking at bunging on some fresh and was looking at the maxxis for sticky but "me live you wrong time"....so thoughts, abuse etc:biggrin:
I run 190s on all my bikes ranging from 600cc track bikes to 1200cc dukes. Only thing about the 190s on the dukes is to check it doesn't rub against swingarm. As for HOOOOOOOOge slide. i doubt any tyre can stop that if you come across rainbows.
I'm sure the rim on the 848 is 5" and 6" on the 1098. I believe Ducati went from the high speed stability of the 190 section on the 1098, to the more willing to turn 180 section plus the extra 10mm ride height on the 848 to sharpen the cornering. If I remember correctly!
I can't see that whether you had a 180 or a 190 would've made any difference to your slide. I think although possibly not too noticeable on the road, you would of course lose some of the fast cornering capability with a 190 and honestly can't think of any real positive difference it'd make. I seem to recall at some point one of the mags did some comparisons on cornering with an 848 and a 1098 - and the 848 was going round certain track corners up to 3 mph quicker. I reckon that'd be primarily due to the 180 section, but as mentioned - this is track stuff with test riders.
There is no god and we still worship an Arab from two thousand years ago ... Go figure .... Anyway I know the size of the tyre has fack all to do with grip I was just asking wether the 190 fits ..... But my tyres are shot ( pirreli dragons 3 ) gonna try maxxis next sticky with a wee bit o life
