1995 750ss chain adjusters required. What have people got tucked away that could help? One of mine is seized on my project. Many thanks
For steel or ally swingarm? I have a spare steel swingarm (the OEM one from my bike) and you can borrow the adjusters until you find others or get yours freed. AL
Steel looking at his thread in the ss forum. Take the seized bit to a local engineering firm, they'll be able to sort it with ease
Hello hello Thanks guys, I've been out so couldn't reply. That's very generous Al and I may well take you up on that offer if I can't locate any in the next few days or free this one up. I was daft really as could have been soaking for months but only just realised. What would the engineering firm do? Heat or some wonder chemical? With the cast bit being aluminium and the bolt presumably steel I expect there's been a reaction.
Frankly, I don't know what they are made from........I'll check today....... Done checked: They are ally in mine.... Heat might work if you can keep it localised.....however wind the bolt as hard as you can to see if it will snap so you can get the adjuster out of the swingarm...........that way you could work on it a bit easier. But I reckon it would be fairly easy to knock up some new ones using a solid block.......Its just a 17.5mm hole across it and and M8 thread along the bottom....
