Happy new year members. Having removed the fairing from my newly acquired 2002 748 to give the old girl a good clean I've decided I would like to replace the fixing bolts which are looking tired. Please can anyone tell me or even better post a photo of the OEM fairing bolts. A bonus point if you can tell me where I can find some! Many thanks COH555
If it is a 748E then you can replace them with proper Dzus fasteners. Screen and fairing screws can be purchased from Pro-bolt or of course a Ducati dealer. I use black Dzus fasteners on my bike and there are a couple of suppliers on eBay that sell these, I assume you have a stock fairing but if not you can get the race style fairing with a bellypan by buying a set for an Aprilia.

Is this for the fairing side panels where they join or the screws that hold the fairing to the mounting tabs? Pro bolt are very good for the fairing and screen screws but they are not cheap but no doubt a lot cheaper than genuine Ducati ones. Plastic washers can be bought off eBay. The fairing mounting points are the same on all models. I cannot quite remember how the E fairing fits and no doubt someone will confirm. You will need the Dzus fasteners and the backing plates if you want to convert and possibly the frame tabs to hold the backing plates. The kits I have bought off ebay come with both fasteners and backing plates and they are about £30 + for a set for a bellypan style fairing so slightly less for a stock fairing. Have a look at this eBay shop which holds all sorts of fasteners and fastener kits, some are quite decently priced. The screws should be stock at main dealers. If you decide to refit them then lightly grease the threads and don't over tighten them to avoid problems undoing next time.
