For Sale 2005 749r (carbon) 5k Miles

Asking £11k which should be the cheapest out there despite the crazy low miles...

Appreciate this is maybe a little preemptive but I'm conscious the summer is coming to a close and a new owner may have particular preferences on service items which I may be able accommodate while it is in for service now.

Selling as I just won't use it for the foreseeable future. Mileage is about 4.5k but it is in for service at the moment so I don't have the exact mileage. All photos are archive but live photos can be posted once I get it back (if it hasn't already sold!)

I've owned for 7 years and done almost no miles on it! Last 4 years it has been SORN and parked in my garage while I worked abroad. Bike was covered in ACF50, on paddock stands etc and so is in great condition despite being laid up. Currently undergoing recomissioning at a local Ducati specialist.

Few minor mods with original bits available
A749R** private plate
Plenty of history and receipts including original bill of sale
Red key and code card present as well as black key


Since owning it has always been a second (or third and sometimes fourth bike...) so I have rode it a handful of times on the road and done a couple of track days (I had cheap fairings so the carbon ones were in bubble wrap most of the time). Last trackday I did I had some fuelling issues but the current strip down revealed an old tank liner that was bubbling and some surface internal rust which seems common on these steel tanks. The tank will be resealed inside and resprayed outside as part of the current recommissioning.

Hmmmm. Got me thinking now. It had a Leo Vince can on mostly so it could be in my box of original bits

 

First registered 2005 hence it's a 2005 749R but you are correct, the carbon models were only made the first year of production I believe.

 

Yes. Those are the fairings but my nose cone has white accents like the tail.

I bought it in 2012 and its had three prior owners. I can't guarantee anything is 100% original given I haven't owned it from new sorry.

Once it's back from the overhaul I can post more photos though.

 

Happy to check once it is back in my possession. From memory there are other generation 1 tells right? Sure I read somewhere it wasn't just the carbon Vs plastic fairings?
