Hi. Iwant to reduce the amount of suspension pre-load on my 2011 Multi 1200s. The purpose for this is to lower the seat height. Will this work ? Has anyone done this ? will it effect the handling ? If good to go can anyone give me a step x step guide as to the easiest way to do it. Thanks Tam
2011 1200s should have Ohlins electronic suspension, yes ? Pre load adjustment is manual for the front and through the menu for the rear. If you don’t have an owner’s manual, you can download it from here, http://www.ducati.com/cms-web/upl/d...en.pdf?forceContentDispositionAttachment=true Andy
It will affect the handling. May be better to lower the forks in the yokes, and mess with ride height, which on the multi afaik can only be done really by moving the eccentric hub so it’s flatter or having very soft spring. Both will affect handling, imho the spring would be far worse than just lengthening the bike a little Hth
You should only adjust preload to set the sag .. as Bradders said , drop the yoke if you can compensate equally at the rear .. if not , consider Cuban Heels?
Or, use the urban mode as min preload so it’s soft as poss and low as poss and then switch to ‘normal’ mode when on the move. Or buy a DVT: it’s lower with regular seat than the 2013 with a low seat
