Manual says stone cold. Straight up check glass. I could swear I had seen other advice. What say you guys? Rex
What the manual says. As soon as you start the engine oil will be pumped around and the level at the sight glass will drop. It will take a few minutes after stopping to drain back down and there may be a slight change in level between hot and cold. So a cold engine is the only time you will get consistent level readings. In my opinion any other advice is wrong.
What year is your 1200R? Can anyone chime in with what a later 1200S (Does that matter?) I wonder if they found a better way later on and there was a service bulletin. Thank you Rex
