1200 DVT 2015 Dvt-2017 Dvt Any Differences?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by spannerman, Nov 30, 2017.

  1. Hi all....As some of you may know I purchased one of the very first 2015 DVT models and had a horrendous time with constant breakdowns, Keyless issues, Fuel gauge faults. Ducati bought the bike back from me and I stayed away for a while....

Anyway I have just purchased another brand new DVT from 'On Yer Bike' Ducati.

What I want to know...Are there any differences between the first 2015 DVT models and the more current 2017 DVT models? My new one was manufactured on 07/17....

Also will any of the modifications have been carried out on the production line of previous issues with the bike (Fuel tank sender etc)?

  2. Yes, they've gone up over 1500 quid !! :mad::D

  3. Your new one has hill start, oh! and the fuel sender is different but other than that I think that's it.

  4. My 16 has hill start Gareth, I thought they all did ??

  5. Unlike KTM's eh! Wayne :)

  6. Nah! the 2015 didn't Wayne.

  7. 15 did not have hill hold assist.

As has been said - the only outward noticeable difference is the hill hold, the new maps, new design airbox lid and later fuel sensor are included.

Seems most of the 15 teething troubles are gone with the 17.

  8. Its crap anyway, does not stay on long enough, should stay on till you start to pull off but instead, it stays on for a fixed time of between 8-10 seconds so is all but useless on hill start traffic lights

  9. At 4k, he'd have had me Gareth !! :p

  10. I agree it could be improved - but it does mean you can hold the bike on front brake - keep both feet on floor - then as you are ready to go let go of the brake - without fear of rolling back

This is handy when you are a real short arse.. and need both feet down and none on rear brake..

  11. I never use it tbh, don't see how different it is to just holding the brake manually and pulling away normally. Two fingers on brake, can still use throttle :upyeah: On all the cars I have ever had with HH assist, does not let brake off till you go to pull away.

  12. can't remember if it was 2016 or 2017 when the volcano grey colour was introduced, but certainly not available in 2015.

  13. Thanks for your input all.
I really loved the first bike except when it broke down, which was every other week....I was going to order the 1260 model but as the 1200s touring model is now £15999 I thought to myself 'Why not give it another go' I'm hoping that the first DVT I purchased was a Friday afternoon bike and that I was just really unlucky...fingers crossed on this later 2017 model

  14. Well mines a 16 and touch wood, nothing has broken at all, and had very few issues with my other 2 also (2012 and 2014), so very best of luck, lets hope its not a dud :D:upyeah:

  15. Mines a late 2015 and no issues. They put on a new fuel gauge sender (I had no problems) and fixed a nut that fell off a pannier lock. 17000 miles and that's it.

  16. All sounds very promising then. I have two mates who also have DVT's and they have had just the fuel sender problem but nothing else on both bikes

  17. Fuel sender and heated grips failures on my 2015. That's all I can remember at any rate.

  18. Thanks for all your info people...Bike arrives this Thursday and will be subjected to an ACF treatment before even seeing the road.....:p:p:p

  19. My '16 Pikes Peak has been flawless for 5000 miles
