1200 DVT 2016 1200 Dvt - Stalling Issues

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Chris Scott, Apr 12, 2019.

  1. Hi Guys,

So my 2016 MS DVT has a Termi System and the appropriate map.
My servicing guy (who has been impeccable for 7 years) performed the service (3 years @7.5k + belts) the latest software update. Since the update I have had a recurring issue that I have finally figured out how to replicate.

Whether warm or cold, if I drop the clutch before coming to a complete stop it can stall.
When in neutral if I rev the engine (over 3k) and drop the throttle all is fine.
If I gently blip the throttle (2k and slow traffic) when the revs settle they drop below 1k before settling back at 1.3k. About 20% of the time it stalls unless I wind up the throttle again.

All the diagnostics show no error.
I have tried a "cold reset"

Any suggestions or has any one else experienced this?

    Thanks team

  2. I had similar issues a few years ago but it was on my 1200S (pre-DVT), it would stall as I was running at very low speeds.

Might it be your clutch switch?

  3. I think it may be wise to change it anyway. Thanks

  4. What did you do for the cold reset then?

  5. My spanner man suggested the following.

With the engine cold disconnect the battery for for 15 min.
    Reconnect and start the engine
Run until the fans kick in.
Switch off and the key engine cool completely.

If that’s not right i’ll Take any suggestions.

  6. Is that an official ducati procedure?

  7. Not officially but for some reason seems to help.
The same needs to be done for triumphs too.

  8. Same for my Honda Fireblade

  9. Remove the CAT and flapper.
