Hey guys, so been riding my Hyper around Thailand last few months, but have this pain in the ass problem where it misfired at around 4000rpm. Coincidently it won't rev past 4000rpm in neutral, as the rev limiter light comes on. What on earth is going on with this bike? When I'm riding normally, it will rev to the limit, but in neutral it won't. And this backfiring and popping whilst on a steady throttle is driving me nuts. Anyone got any ideas? Cheers
I've had it at the Ducati dealer in Penang Malaysia, the Ducati dealer in Hua Hin Thailand, none of them could find an issue. Had the most up to date ECU map installed, no faults on the diagnostics from any of them. Exhaust valve is disconnected with an Imoto servo delete chip, Booster Plug to richen the mixture, and a Racefit slip on. It still does exactly the same thing. The Booster Plug helped the low speed jerkiness of it all, but still won't rev past 4000rpm in neutral and the warning light comes on. I'm guessing this is also where my popping us coming from at the same revs in gear.
It you were anywhere but Thailand I would have said there is something wrong with your bike but if you read this post on the Supersport 939 forum you will see that it seems that all Thai made bikes have a 4000 rpm rev limit in neutral with the side stand down
How odd, I never knew this. I've tried it with the stand up, but not in gear that's true. Will try it today and see what happens. Still doesn't change my bad running at freeway speeds though unfortunately.
I've tried a different TPS in one of the dealers, no different. And yes I have the standard levers on the bike. Its been doing this from completely standard, to now. I'm at a loss.
So just been fiddling with the bike again, holding a steady throttle, I can't actually get it to maintain a steady rpm, it goes from 2000rpm to 4000rpm, won't stay anywhere inbetween, could be the TPS after all, maybe they swapped my old one with another faulty one?
