V4 2025 Decibel Level On Stock, Aftermarket Exhaust For Uk Tracks

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Fastmonkey, Nov 20, 2025 at 1:25 PM.

  1. Anyone running a new 2025 model and done any investigating on decibel levels, i don't want to buy such an expensive bike only to have it as an ornament as it isn't allowed on UK tracks !

    Thanks

  2. You will struggle with aftermarket. I was black flagged at Bedford and Donington (and I think somewhere else) on the OEM exhaust. However, as always, riding style/speed are as much a problem as the exhaust itself. If you are only half throttle and not revving it out you will never suffer as badly. I know @DRR117 had some success with the Storm exhaust on his 2023/4 bike and is likely getting something from them for his 2025. Any V4 Panigale is going to suffer more or less the same because I do not think the 2025 is any louder than my 2023 was, so investigate what issues/solutions people had for the 2023/4 because you will be in the same situation.

  3. From the MSVT Website:

    Additional Information

Factors such as air temperature and humidity can affect the level of noise that your vehicle is producing. If you are ever within 1dB(A) of a particular limit then we suggest that you strongly consider having your bike looked at before making another booking.

Ducati Panigale fitted with the 'plain standard exhaust only' will be permitted leniency on the static test. Drive-by limits are still strictly enforced.

So you'll be allowed on track but as Jolley said riding style does come into it. I class myself as a slow advanced rider which is probably why i haven't seen a black flag  but faster riders who are on the noise tube all the time may ping it. But you do learn where the noise meters are on circuit and just click up a gear or back off.

My 23 had a stock can but the exhaust valve removed i didn't manage to ping Bedford, Snetterton or Donnington.

My 2025 i feel is quieter even at WOT but I've only taken mine to Europe on track where the noise wasn't an issue. If you are keeping it stock don't worry too much, MSVT have clearly stated leniency in their T&Cs :)

  4. Thanks for all the info, much appreciated. I'm happy to keep the exhaust stock as the upgraded options seem ludicrously expensive. My concern is the degradation of the stock exhaust, stock cats etc. Seen this on older model v4's.

@Gav101 - How many track miles on yours, any issues so far ?

  5. Yep, exhausts for these bikes are insane money. I wouldn't worry too much about degradation, I had about 1500 miles of track on my old V4 and exhaust didn't show any issues. Think it was really early V4s that suffered from that.

My 25 has only done 900 miles in total. I ran it in for 600 miles then literally I had it serviced and next day loaded up in the trailer and drove over to Mugello for my first track day :joy:

@Jolley i think he has way more miles on his bike from track use so he would be more of an expert.

  6. Not as many miles as I would have liked because it has been a busy year off the bike! I think my bike has around 2,500 miles on it so far. I have been to Snetterton, Donington, Brno, and Bedford. I think Snetterton is the only UK circuit I wasn't flagged. Bedford I was actually flagged a second time even short shifting on 3/4 throttle past the meter (though I take a tighter line through where the meter is than most so that could be my problem there). I would say so far the 2025 is triggering more meters than the 2023 did with the same riding style, although my laptimes have come down by a few seconds so I am possibly giving it more abuse. As Gav said, I think a lot of the OEM systems that grenaded themself were earlier (2018) bikes. I would say stay OEM in the UK and if you do trigger a meter they are usually quite helpful with tips about why you might have triggered it!......

  7. My 2023 V4S with Storm has never caused issues at Portimao, Misano, Mugello, Philip Island, Aragon & Valencia.
