Tickets and camping have been released on the Silverstone web site. I appreciate that Silverstone isn’t a universal favourite but we have found staying at the circuit makes for an enjoyable long weekend (hopefully not Rick Astley on stage as one of the 9 bands/DJs over the 3 nights ) Weekend tickets for premium grandstands like Club Corner, are £120 p/p and Fan Stands are £140 p/p (including your free, worth £20, goody bag). To put this in perspective, similar tickets for Aragon are 145€ and Germany, Austria and San Marino around 280€ which includes an early bird discount. The Glamping at the Ridings is being run by the Green Yurt Company for the 4th year running and they’ve added a limited number of 9m x 7m pitches with electricity hook up for caravans & campers, to the existing choice of yurts and bell tents. The caravan/camper pitch costs a fixed £199 for 2 people for up to 4 nights and includes the hook up and access to the hot showers and flushing toilets. The breakfast rolls, pastries and muesli that used to be included in the Glamping package are no longer but are available at extra cost, as are the freshly cooked pizzas in the evening from the on-site food truck. No bar as such again although a couple of brands of (pretty average) bottled beer are available from the same on-site food truck. If you are going, enjoy and we might run in to you. If you are not, I hope you enjoy the TV coverage from your sofa. Andy PS - no information about the Two Wheels for Life, Day of Champions and auction on the Thursday yet but bear in mind that is not included in your GP weekend tickets. IIRC, tickets were in the region of £25 if you didn’t join the ride in and 2 laps of the gp circuit. From my experience a few years ago, joining 250 motorcycles on the country roads around Silverstone was not a pleasant. There were several breakdowns, too many minor collisions and one incident where one of the escort bikes failed to negotiate a T-junction. Fortunately no permanent harm done to the rider and the hedge will grow back. The bike however was a different and messy story. Andy
Got my weekend tickets last week on the early release thing, almost like for like what I got for my son for the F1 next July, 2 tickets for F1 were within a few quid £1000 more than MotoGP. I couldn't bring myself to be in the Ducati stand next year as people might think I like MM93, so in Luffield. Will go to the Day of Champions, not fussed about the ride in, did it years ago at Donington and once at Silverstone.
