I'm doing a Bonamici clip on install on my 2025 v4s, got everything fitted and went to fit back the top yoke. Struggling with clearance on the right hand clip on where the separate steering damper bracket sits. The OEM top yoke has some noggins (!) that sit into the oem clip on brackets and this raises the height of it, as the relief holes aren't in the aftermarket clips ons like they are on the oem ones. My main thought it the bonamici clip ons don't sit with the oem top yoke but I wanted to see if anyone is using aftermarket clip ons with the oem top yoke or any help in general ? Thanks.
you can get a steering damper bracket that clamps around the fork leg under the right clip on. Set that at a clearance height and use a spacer to get the damper level. spider do one
Ok that all makes a lot of sense I did think about grinding off the noggins ! So what you are saying is I can just move the steering bracket down the leg more and add spacers back to the damper. As long as it's level it doesn't matter where the bracket sits (within reason).
Yep if you keep the std top yoke with noggins it’ll put your clip ons 5-6 mm lower makes a difference and uncomfortable. the spider bracket comes with a 15mm spacer. Ideally you want to set up clip ons right angle height and equal for you to en use as little as spacer as you can with the bracket to clear everything and make sure you have stroke clearance lock to lock on the damper. You do need to check for clearance as the back of the bracket can make contact on full lock with the air filter cover screws.
