Hey All I'm seriously considering buying a 25V4S to use as a track bike, especially given there's quite a few ex demo bikes about for circa £5k off list Anyway, for those that have used them as track bikes, I've got a couple of questions please : 1) Can you swap standard rearsets to race shift - And are standard rearsets ok ? 2) Do the wheels from any other models fit, or is it a 'brand new from dealer' job for a spare set 3) Any other things worth considering Cheers Graeme
I run a 2025 V4s as a track bike 1) rear sets are a bit of a pain in the rear brake master is different and mounts upright with integral reservoir. You can get spider ones that use this as the cheaper option. They do do a better more expensive option that means you can use a more conventional rear master.... but that involves changing a brake pipe too to the ABS as the end is a 90 and won't fit. That brake pipe has a sensor in it which I cringed at thinking it was something to do with the electrickery......but im told its just for the brake light. 2) wheels on the S are very light and although I have historically used different wheels on my 20/22 v4 I've stuck with the std ones. New forged ally ones can be had for £1500 so not as expensive as the SSSA ones. The bigger issue is to change the Cush drives to the red ones as the std? original ones don't last very long, and yes they are a unique size to Ducati 3) fairing change is easier, electronic suspension is better... but you end up in fixed. ABS system is superb particularly around the split braking or the bike application of the rear mid corner...,
