Just watched a 3 ad on TV. The 'joke' is that if the captain of the Titanic had a 3 mobile it would of detected the iceberg and the boat would of avoided the iceberg. Snuggling to see the funny side of celebrating over 1500 deaths plus the destruction of one of the Worlds greatest ships with an ad showing that this disaster would have been avoided by being equipped with a 3 mobile. They struggle to provide a signal in my town in Gloucestershire but it is funny to see that you would get an excellent signal in the middle of the Atlantic..... I struggle with advertising. When they had the pitch to 3 with the idea, did everybody just roll about with laughter and think 'oh, that's a great idea!' And nobody piped up and said, ' Hang on a minute, isn't that going to alienate some people?' Had I been a 3 customer then I wouldn't be any more.
The rule is that if you can't remember anyone who died then it's fair game. That's why Vikings and pirates are ok but not Nazis. Don't shoot the messenger I don't make the rules.
