I know someone who has a pre war one of those. You might think that's pretty old. Think again because it's pre First War! It's in original condition and runs and drives...
Nice, but a Morgan three wheeler without a massive air cooled V-twin on the front just isn't right.... And someone's stolen one of the headlights..
I like it but would never get a three wheeler along the track to my house. I wonder which ex-RAF base that was filmed, I may have even worked there. I noticed an Alvis Stalwart parked in the background, another iconic vehicle.
I like it - it's not always easy to blend modern tech and classic style but they've done a great job with that. An open three-wheeler is still not a very useful machine in itself though...!
There used to be a series on TV presented by sugs the lead singer of madness , anyhows they renovated old things like a fire boat , steam traction engines etc and also a Morgan three wheeler.
The TriKing is equally (or even more) attractive. A friend who has owned one for 30 years is thinking of selling it. Tempting of course, but it would be unrealistic to the point of idiocy ...
Interesting seeing one with that engine.....what does the 'M' stand for? Morgan or Matchless? I have only seen them with JAP engines (that's J.A. Prestwich)........and one with a Guzzi engine.
Matchless. Morgan have never made engines. All the cars they have ever made, 3 or 4 wheelers, have had engines supplied by JAP, Blackburne, Matchless, Ford, Rover, FIAT, BMW, S&S, and several others.
The reason I asked was because that isn't the correct Matchless logo...........the wing are missing....... Red Bull required..........
Good point. Most Matchlesses had the "M" with wings. But in the late 1930s there was a spell when the M was without wings - for example on the Silver Hawk and Silver Arrow v-four and v-twin models, the M has no wings. That was the same period when Morgan replaced JAPs with Matchlesses (as did Brough Superior).
Used to watch vmcc sidecars v morgans in late 70's. Great to watch, the front wheels looked like they were going to come off round gerrards. Sidecars had 650 triumphs mainly with a couple of vincents.
Bugger that Steve........credit to you for doing it all.................I would have just bought what was available......
