I have just bought a pair of 50mm termi’s for my 996 with a 50mm to 45mm link pipe. Anyone else had issues fitting? I can’t seem to get the link pipe to meet with the downpipes properly. If I get them in first, the link pipe won’t then meet up with the frame fixings! Anyone else had the same issue??
Have you slackened off the whole system from the headers ? To my knowledge, the 50mm end cans are common and should fit most 916/748/996/998. I had a pair from a 996R/998S fitted to my 748R with no problem but the whole system had to be loosely put in position to make it fit before tightening up. Andy
Haha yeah it’s the correct size. Fits fine just seems to be at the wrong angle. Maybe just needs more persuasion. I assumed it would fit easy enough and wouldn’t need too much force!
I have a knackered one in the garage that needs some work on it. I will be in there later today so will photograph That looks like the later one to me
Also following this as I’m having the exact same issue. I’m fitting a link pipe from (I think) 748r onto my ‘02 998. Lot of wiggling and loosening and re jigging. I can just about get the top mounting point on the frame to line up but then the bottom fixing is too far off the bottom rotating fixing. Gavin you managed to get yours sorted ?
