Hi all, I’ve got a 2007 620ie monster with a seized engine. I’ve found another engine from a 98-03 600 dark injection on EBay. My engine code starts with ZDM620A2B the one I’ve found is RA22000583. Anyone know if this will work with no issues? Cheers
When I did similar, DVLA threw a hissy fit and tried to make me put a Q plate on the bike, just beware.
Welcome. It could be fine but I would be careful in this situation as it isn’t a cheap engine (looked at the item on ebay). I thought that anything with an engine number that does not start with Z means it wasn’t made in Italy (unless someone knows better), so it could be a variant made in another Ducati engine plant for a different market. Nothing necessarily wrong with that but it could potentially have different compression ratio, valve lift/timing, gear ratios to meet local fuel and emissions regulations, and so may not work optimally with your ECU presets.
