I recently posted on this thread http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f91/here-rear-seat-hump-16433/#post258005 about the mono seat cowls for Biposto's that I am willing to make if there is enough interest. I think many people will not have seen this thread as I have had only one forum member showing interest so far, whereas I have a had a number of approaches in the past from forum members when I had none available and had no means of producing them at the time. So if anyone does have an interest then I am happy to produce an initial batch of three and a further batch if interest is strong. I am also contemplating making the attached headlamp aperture filler, again in batches of three, if there is interest. I bought this filler cover from a well known independent Ducati dealer some time ago as he had produced a small batch. The original is flimsy plastic and I aim to produce a thicker one in fibreglass which might mean me losing the original in order to make the mould. You can see by the photo's how it fits and blanks off the fairing meaning you can remove the headlamp from your bike and not risk smashing it and yet easily fill in the hole left. As you can see the fit is good of the original (ignore the first photo as the filler was too lightly taped in!) and for what I will be asking it will be a cheap and easy alternative to having a trackday only top fairing or just running with the lights taped up. You could easily set up several ways of fitting this insert using either velcro or a bit of silicone. A great idea for anyone who only does the odd trackday and doesn't want to risk expensive parts of the bike like the headlamp. Please feel free to PM me if you are interested or have any questions, all items will be finished in Grey etch primer as I am not currently able to paint either item due to workshop alterations. I can send more photos of either item if you need them. Currently I am just trying to gauge interest as one off's require too much outlay in material costs.
If you've not got the mould yet, have you looked at EASY COMPOSITES web site. I use their stuff to make little one off carbon fibre parts and it's all good stuff. Nice work Red.
Hi Red, YES! Where do I send the money Just grabbed a pile of mashed nose fairings and side panels off ebay for track use and have spent today wondering how to fill the headlamp voids*.. Ideally I'd like a monoposto seat but a cover will do. *considering one of the nose fairings is split in the middle and edge of the H/lamp hole then the filler panel will work nicely as a repair and strengthening piece.
