Discussion in 'Wanted' started by andyb, May 28, 2019.

  1. Got a bit of a project on the go..has anyone got any of the following bits hanging around please for the 748-998 bike?

the fairing mounting brackets x 4 that bolt to the side of the frame
a front track only style subframe
rear brake lever mounting bracket assembly
a pair of track rear sets ( not the std ones)

    worth a shot please?

  2. Will it be ready for Portimao?

Hasn't the special one got a load of bits, obviously as long as you can turn a blind eye to who actually owns them?

  3. ill fill you in with the full story later.....;)

  4. @andyb I have the frame fairing mounting brackets..

  5. I have the front race fairing mount, I may have the some of the corse rear set parts.
I’ll check but I may have 4 pot callipers too

  6. For footrests you might want to look at some of the Chinese rear sets
I have a set ( in use) cost £54 plus a few extra quid to buy ally spacers so they fit nicer

  7. what make or website are the chinese stuff please?

  8. any picture by chance of what front it is please?

  9. i'll take a phot of it later for you. it holds the nose fariing in place.

  10. Can the boy not mill one from a billet or unobtanium that must be hanging round the workshop ?

What you needs is a 3d printer ......

  11. That's the style and place I got mine. There are several places selling them
They do the same style for 916/999/1098
You can either fit them with road linkage or use the supplied gear lever that fits straight on the gearbox and gives you race shift @andyb

  12. Only by 1 mm +-

  14. Or know how to use a drill and elongate a hole! (Not difficult)

  15. for me thats a bit of a bodge...

  16. Can’t tell once done. As the bolts are normally recessed anyway. Did it to the NCR frame hangers I had on and worked/looked fine.

  17. i think i would cry....;)

  18. This answers a question @andyb, @bettes. I think what the Chinese have done is make the mounting holes 1/2mm out so they fit both
One of the mounting bolts was tight on both sides
When I fitted them I put both bolts in and tightened each one a small bit at a time till they were on
