748 Forks And Shock

Discussion in 'Wanted' started by Tz125, Oct 5, 2020.

  1. Hi Im looking for a ohlins or showa shock for a 748 and a pair of forks.

Let me know what you have
    Thanks
    Ben

  2. Are you looking for functional for a bike that you ride or original equipment for a collectable restoration ? Andy

  3. Hi Andy, I want clean and usable parts. I have a rusty showa on the back and the showa forks have aluminium tubes that are blistered on the front.

So nice clean shock, ohlins would be nice but potentially to expensive.

Showa Front forks or are just the aluminium tubes without blister's or corrosion.

  4. I've got a pair of forks sitting in the garage £100 + P&P and they're yours.

Weird. Pair of 748 ones there though, present and correct. Don’t leak etc, not box fresh but not manky either. Just need a clean. :)

I also have a couple of red pattern mirrors. A red OE mirror, an OE tool kit and a pair of standard 748E cans and a LH upper fairing for a red 2002 on 748s

  6. Also a pair of headlamp protectors, a dealer shop manual, pair of clutch / brake levers... and a boatload of other stuff I haven’t got round to listing yet.

    god I hate eBay.

  7. Hi Thanks for the pic, i think its just a bit of grease but just want to check what the hightlighed bits on the legs are.
I'm changing the leg becauce of corrosion/blistering just making sure i dont end up with some the same.

  8. LH is a mark that sits inside the fairing line and you can twist the fork to conceal it (only discovered on removal). RH side is dirt:grease from behind the mudguard. No worries if they’re not of use. :)

  9. Hadn’t looked at them properly for @ 18 months... they’re not boxfresh. :)

  10. So I have found a decent showa shock, still after a nice pair of forks.

    Thanks

  11. Are they a direct fit to a 748 if get the calipers?

  12. Why not take the chance to upgrade the front end (if it’s a rider not a collectible bike) and put 848/1098 forks & radials on there?

  13. @andyb could tell you if it’s a straight fit
