I replaced mine with a custom alloy tank after many failures, it was however expensive and not entirely straightforward. IMO if you're replacing a leaky tank don't fit a used one, they're not particularly expensive new and an old one may be no better than yours - that said I had a new one fail immediately and a couple more that only lasted a number of weeks and no warranty from Ducati either - a poor show really...
I've got one that i took off my 996 sps last month as i needed the corse one after fitting a bigger airbox. If you don't know what i'm on about look in my album and you should spot the difference to yours. Anyway, as a result i have a perfect one, minus cap as i needed it on my new one but it can be yours for £10 delivered. Just fit your cap.
bargain! for a sound one - they turn up on £bay for around £15 plus post (sometimes with absolute pressure sensor still fitted if lucky)
