748 748r Oil Cooler Nipple Case Crack !?!

  1. Hey all,

Yesterday I had my first track day of '16. After the third session I noticed a little oil leakage at the oil cooler nipple, thought its was just a tightening issue. So tightened the nipple, still had some leakage.

If you look at the picture you see a tiny crack in the casing (maybe to tight with the wrench..) only inside the triangle. Did some teflon tape on the thread, but leakage stayed there. Is there anybody how has some experience to close the leakage. Or is a welder the only solution?

  2. Looks like it needs welding, tricky to do but it will likely only get worse if you keep tightening it, until a piece falls off.

  3. I would get it welded cos it aint gonna stop leaking. But i would also drill a small hole at the end of the crack before getting it welded to stop it from happening again.
