749 749/999 Cast Swing Arm Chain Adjusters.

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Jamie Clare, Apr 28, 2020.

  1. Hello Guys,

After a really impressive uptake on the fabricated swing arm chain adjusters, we have bought a cast swing arm in so we can design a similar style adjuster...

I'm basically looking for initial interest... No commitment at the moment just seeing how much of a market there is. If you are then please raise your hand.

  3. What Sev said. I've got the Pit-Bull 999 rear stand for the cast swingarm. It actually works quite well and feels very secure but is a bit fiddly to align. If a set of Gilles-type adjusters could be fitted without any drilling, would accommodate GP-style lifters, and would stay in place with the axle removed, I'd more than likely be in.

  4. You will have to drill one hole near the front to hold in place. We can do a clamp to go round the back. Any ideas on how to secure them, I’d gladly listen

  5. The stock hole at the front of the recess for the threaded adjuster seems like an option rather than a bolt parallel with the axle through the swingarm.

  6. Just looked at my bike closer (bike was new to me this winter) and realized the adjuster doesn’t thread into the swingarm itself. It’s just sitting in a well on the swingarm. So that’s not an option!

  7. The initial concept... you can drill the frame and screw down or there are grub screws acting up and down to pin the part in the swingarm. We will also make a wrap-around bracket to hold the rear end in place too. There is also a threaded hole for the lifter bobbins

  10. so here you go. the finished design... at the front, you have two opposing grub screws to pin the adjuster in place. you also have the option to drill and tap the swing arm to secure the adjuster with the counterbored bolt hole we have included.
The empty threaded hole is for an m8 thread to attach a cotton reel style lifter bobbin and you also have the option of bolting lifter plates through the rear two holes where the rear clamp plate is located.

The price will be £199.99 for what you see here as a pair either anodised in Black or Natural finish.
Will ship worldwide for an additional cost.

  12. now to set back up for the other ones and know 40 odd sets out.

  13. Brilliant

  14. Nice...

  15. Really nice design! Awesome work!

  16. I just stumbled across this and this appears to solve most of my issues with the cast swingarm without having to go to the trouble of swapping swingarms and potentially replace the exhaust. Has anyone received theirs and put it into action yet?

  17. Very nice. Thanks for the info.

So for the lifters, we need fabricate something ourselves or are their plans to make a set of lifters that will fit it?

  18. We are making them shortly. We have just had a rush of making medical parts for covid testing machines at the moment so we put that work at the top of the list for now

  19. Can you confirm that the threaded hole is 8mm? Ordering some spools to go with the adjusters.
