Now that I am selling my 999 I have put the Ohlins back in so this is up for sale, been on my bike about 2 years done about 8-9 track days . GP10 fully adjustable rear shock, in very good condition. £395.00
Purple and yellow... Nah, ain't gonna work with my 999s. But please tell me (and potential buyers) why a Maxton worked out better than the standard Öhlins? Genuine interest that can only help with the sale.
Hi , was the Maxton shock superior to Ohlins ? Is it sprung and set up for a particular weight ? I have an Ohlins shock on my 999s and was thinking of sending it for a refresh , buying another shock could be an alternative .
@chase I wouldn't say it superior but it has more adjustability than the Ohlins, I did the same as you I took the Ohlins off and had it serviced and had the spring re powdercoated, as I was using the bike for TD's only I kept the Maxton on it as the bike was working great. I have only swapped it back as I'm selling it and the bike visually looks better with the Ohlins on. I don't know what weight the Maxton was set for but I'm 15st and it worked great for me.
