  1. Not sure where to post this, but I'm sure the mods will move it to where they feel it's most appropriate.

@Wasted Time Lord mentioned recently on here that he was struggling to get hold of a left rear indicator Lens for his 999, which surprised me as I knew Snells usually have them in stock.

This morning somebody local with a 1000 Multi contacted me to say he'd broken the Left rear lens on his bike and could he borrow the one off my 999 for his MOT early tomorrow and he'll order one.
Obviously I'm OK with that, but said as I was out and about this afternoon on my Multi I'll drop into Snells and pick one up.

Well, so much for that idea.
Mark at Snells said he's run out, and when he tried to order some of both sides a few weeks ago he was told they've now been marked 'No longer available' from the factory.

Some dealers may still have a small amount of stock, but look after your spares guys, and make sure they are on nice and tight, as we all know they have a habit of falling off.
I've added a screw, washer, and 'O' ring to mine to hold them on.
The one I'm lending out in the morning will have a security chain of cable ties added.

looks like aftermarket will be the sole source new from now on.

  2. I did have the entire flasher unit on order from bike-parts-ducati, but cancelled it today, after waiting 5 weeks (with no word at all, such as "we're waiting for a new batch to be made").

None of the multiple Chinese-owned outlets on eBay selling the identical product offer any but 'smoked' and 'clear'. I don't imagine it's illegal to have amber at the front and smoked or clear at the back, just untidy, but you can clearly get smoked or clear front flasher lenses to have them match, and orange bulbs. I'm more concerned about the quality, such as 'do they fit'. Most of the pictures look wrong - as though, perhaps, they were photographed at a highly tilted angle, or that the jpeg has been distorted.

I'll report back on what I get.

    Thanks @Nasher for following up.
