Just stripped the thread out of my caliper! doh... any one got one going cheap? only need right hand side
Not 100%, there are more engineer based people on here who could say if it's safe on brakes. I would imagine it would be.......but it's your brakes and your life. I'm just a bloke who plays with spanners.
I wouldn’t, I’d get a new/used one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-7...m=382237411488&_trksid=p2045573.c100507.m3226
Or buy a pair and sell the left: https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/2002-ducati-999-breaking.58449/ I expect you'll still get some coin back for the right one on eBay even with a striped thread.
you could helicoil it but its not straight forward. th hole you drill must be perfectly straight. a fraction off and the bleed nipple will not fit perfectly in the hole at the bottom and it will leak plenty on tinternet about doing it. Some solve it by filing the bottom of the bleed nipple flat then dropping a small ball bearing down the hole. that seals it no matter what angle the bleed nipple goes in.
Thanks fellas. Higgy its the banjo, wish it was the bleeder as you can blank it off and get a banjo with a bleed nipple. Luckily i have a 749 track bike so ive borrowed the caliper off that for the mo. And used a torque wrench on the banjos... Surprising how little torque they require, have been overtightening them for years. The caliper is in great condition seems a shame to bin it, but dont want any potential brake probs. Christ, if a banjo popped out, think ive just decided to get a new/used one... Thanks again for your input
