how important is it to have the code card. I've bought a 749 without it but I've got the red key. what is it all for?
The card gives you the bypass code for the immobiliser plus the key number. I can calculate the bypass code from the info in your red key. So no problem not having the card. The only info you will not have is the manual number for cutting a key.
right so you mean cutting a copy of the main key? that was my next step as I only have one key. it's always handy to have a spare
I wouldn't worry, technology has moved on. I didn't have a red on my 749 and locksmith just read the code from the black key and loaded it to a new key they cut.
