Hi All, My partner bought a 13 month old 796 Monster last weekend and I collected it today for as unfortunately she had to attend a funeral far away and will be away all weekend. The journey home was about 130 miles and most of the way I was thinking how pleased she would be with it as it is a nice step up from her 696. Anyway, 5 miles from home and all of a sudden the gearbox starts playing up and I can only get gears 1 and 2. I managed to ride home , trying to get to 3 and more all the way but with no luck. The gearbox had felt notchy all the journey but some do feel like that so I was not concerned but now there is no spring in the lever if you know what I mean and it feels totally inert when trying to change up. The bike was from a private individual who gave every indication of being straightforward, and it has had its first service and is still under warranty so I`m not going to attempt anything that would invalidate the warranty but before I call my local dealer can any of you think of something very simple I have missed or should try ? I`d love to have it all working perfectly for when she gets back from the funeral if possible. Thanks David
