800SS Orange Immobilisor LED on clock set gone faint.

  1. :frown: Hi can anybody help i have a 2005 800SS with only 8000 miles on it. I made the mistake of buying my 800SS from a dealer without having the immobilisor over ride code with it, as i was not aware it needed one. I have since found out that it can be obtained by sending the clock set including the ECU to a company in wales and they will extract it for me for £150.But there is a risk that if this goes missing in transit i will then have to replace the clockset / ECU and all keys, ignition barrel and tail seat lock at a cost that exceeds the value of the bike.To make matters worse the orange LED that indicates the immobilisor is working and flashes to help you put in the over ride code has faded very badly and can only be seen in near darkness.
The ironic thing is that even Ducati UK claim not to be able to replace the lost code and suggest replacing all the above mentioned parts at great cost.Just wondered if any one else has had similar problems. As you can see from my other posts i am finding that being a Ducati owner can be frustrating and expensive.

  2. These days any issues regarding the immo can be overcome be it with the ECU, the dash or keys. Not having the code card is not a major issue and since 2001 I have never had to use the immo bypass code.

You dash problem should be repairable. Contact Mark at Scorpio Electronics Scorpio Electronics
