848 / 1098 etc exhaust servo bypass

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by phantom, Jun 16, 2012.

  1. so as you know if you remove the cables you get a cel alarm so to
bypass it you need to buy a full termi system with the
ducati race ECU or you can
buy one of these trick bits

so firstly remove the right hand fairing and the exhaust shield.

under the fairing you will find the exhaust servo

this has to go, unbolt it, unplug it and remove the exhaust cables

the other end of the cables go into the exhaust valve(under the exhaust heat shield),
just take them off.the spring on the valve will hold it
    permanently open

now fit the MotoCreations servo eliminator

now put the fairing and heat shield back on as the hard work is now done

as well as added noise you can save some weight bonus :p

    servo and cables

    new replacement

and the all important noise test lol

this cost me $162 which is about £100 posted.
its all got a 5 year warranty and I done a lot of reading
about them and have found nothing bad said about them.
    get them here http://www.motocreations.com/ducEE.asp

  2. What benefits in doing this?

  3. gives the bike a better note and at arounf 5k there is slightly
more power.was trying to find the dyno I got done before an
after.with the servo fitted there is a slight dip.....oh and its louder now :p

  4. On my Streetfighter I just removed the cable that closes the valve at the exhaust end, no warning light and the spring holds the valve open. Its been like that for 2 years now - no problems

  5. Ar right like the flapper valve mod on a blade I'd guess, ie there to stifle noise for the regs so there's a dip in power at the 4-5k mark and smoothes that out??

  6. yeah, just like the old flapper mod.all for noise reg.
its not that much of a dip, probably that little that
its a placebo effect when you do the mod but I would
swear I can feel the difference as I put the standard
servo back on as the bike is getting sold soon.
