  1. Could do with a bit of advice please guys... On a ride out yesterday afternoon & all was fine after an hour or so in... Stopped for fuel at the halfway point & headed home... Dash lights & headlights started to go out intermittently.. No real pattern to it & most of the time they stayed on... Also the low speed throttle seemed really jerky... Rest of the rev range didnt feel great either, not as responsive as normal... Any ideas? Battery / Regulator?

  2. Check that your regulator isn't over charging using you mode switch!

  4. My 848 had some funny moments, inc clock backlight would flicker on and off from time to time, voltage showed to be charging OK but I replaced the reg rec anyway at a cost of 100 quid, problems all fixed!

  5. Done mate.. Sorry

  6. Plot thickens guys.... Full fairing strip shows there is a pin hole leak at the top of the rad (checking the threads this seems like a common warranty fault?).. That pin hole leak is firing directly onto the loom, running towards the ECU & rugulator.... I'm thinking this may be the root cause?... I'm drying the whole thing out.. Going to coat it all with ACF & get in touch with Wolverhampton Ducati with the view of those guys sorting me a new rad....

  7. Did you go Ducati OEM or Patent? I'm asking bud as I see patent regs on ebay for fairly cheap money...

  8. Rad leak is common problem, they revised the mounts afaik, yes genuine reg mate again I think it was revised for the Evo and late 848 but not sure and not sure how to ID the later one.

  9. £100 isnt too shabby I guess & at least I'd be totally sure it would work / not cause further issues...

  10. The rad issue was mounts and over torquing at the factory. Mine was done just before I sold it, DUK paid for the rad, I paid labour. If you have warranty though, foc:upyeah:

  11. 2008 bike / third owner  .... I'll try Duc Wolverhampton (bought from) or JHP Coventry, went there a few months back for brake pads & had the guided tour of the workshop... Considering its a main dealer I've never been made so welcome in my life.. I was in shabby jeans & hoody too haha.. All I want is a rad swap.. I can drop it in myself, she needs the coolant dropped anyway.

  12. Pre-evo 848s had a recall for rectifier heat shield - so check if yours had that done.

Rad leak was not a recall but was a common problem on the early models. It tended to manifest itself within about 5k miles. Was generally fixed without problem under warranty by later model brackets and rad.

Evos as far as I am aware have not had the same probs.

  13. Yeah bud Ducati Wolverhampton said that earlier.. no recall but a very very common fault.. dealership spoke with Ducati UK & its looking like they will supply the rad & I pay to fit.. except I want to pop it in myself.. seems that might be a sticking point here... my issue being why should I have to pay for transportation of the bike there & fitting costs when I can do all that myself..... I should find out tomorrow

  14. Very impressed... Wolverhampton Ducati called at 9am this morning... My replacement radiator should arrive Friday.. No money required & they are fine with me fitting it myself... Great stuff & although Im miffed at Italian quality control at least its been sorted without fuss & crap normally associated with Dealers...
