Hi All Just a quick one - I've noticed that I can't seem to get the bike's steering lock on if I turn the bars to the left - Is this normal? I would have thought that the little metal locking cylinder should be able to lock the wheel to the left as well as the right? Also - One of my small light bulbs must have blown as well - This is on the high beam side - Looks like a bit of a bugger to try to get in there to replace it!
I can't see that it's bent - How do you adjust the steering lock? - Think it's a solid unadjustable unit?
Nope, you should be able to lock it both left and right. As Andy says is the stop bent? Also on the lower yoke there is the bolts for the lock stops. One of those could be a little out preventing the steering lock from being engaged. ref. the side light. I swapped mine and no matter how I tried I couldn't do it with the light on. Had to take it off in the end. matt
Ok - Thanks - When I get back this evening I'll take a look. The bike has never been crashed, so shouldn't be bent...
there should be a worm screw with a lock nut on each side of the lower yoke just inside the fork tube...unless the 848 evocorsespecialeditionlimitededition doesnt have that.
