As per the couple of other newbie threads I've started I am just about to place an order for a new 848 but having been mulling the final cost over, I am now thinking the Corse SE is the best buy of the two models. I only rode the standard Evo but felt it was exactly what I wanted. But it's hard to ignore the Corse spec for the relative price difference. I only really have two more questions:- Is the Ohlins shock noticeably stiffer than the Showa on the Evo model? If it is, I think that it might be a step too far for me on the road. Can the traction control be turned right off if I decide I don't like it, or will it cut in no matter what? Apologies for yet another daft thread but I thought these queries were worth asking before I order the bike. Cheers. Andy
Is it worth it? Easy answer yes. Ohlins always just seems more adjustable, ie 2 clicks can be too many, where showa, sachs etc you need several to feel anything. And TCS can always be turned off. And apart from that, its the best coulor scheme on the 848/1*98 models
Thanks. That supports my limited knowledge of Ohlins vs Others but I was just a bit nervous that the Ohlins unit would be even firmer. I originally didn't like the Corse paint scheme but I love it now that I've looked at a few pics and videos outwith the official Ducati images. Won't have time today and the dealer is closed Mondays but am now sure I'll be calling and ordering one on Tuesday.
