Just wondering how much play if any should be in the cables, my top cable the one with the adjuster in seems to have a fair bit of play in it so took the slack out but now wondering if that was the right thing to do?
The 1098 manual says the cables should have no free play. I'd imagine it would be the same for the 848/
Sorry the best thing to do with them is to buy a Exhup valve plate from Ebay (Slovakia for about £28 delivered takes around 10 days for delivery) bolt it on and disconnect the cables mine runs like a dream now, i was fed up with error codes coming up i changed the cables, adjusted so many times and then changed the valve, once i put the plate on, faults cleared and never come back. good luck
