How do I adjust the height of the brake lever and can be moved just a few mm or is it high middle or low? Cheers
Can be moved up & down by a fair few mm's. Have to remove the right hand fairing panel & then it's just a lock nut & adjust
Once you've adjusted the height using the stop screw, check that you still have free play in the pushrod that acts on the master cylinder. You want 2-3 mm at the rod. You can feel the free play in the lever as it butts up against the cylinder piston. Depending which way you move the lever, this will increase or decrease. Decrease it too much and you will get brake bind and resulting damage from the heat build up. Worst case the wheel will lock....
And the caliper seals melt, the disc warps, the speedo sensor melts and the molten pad material goes all over the rear wheel. i won't ask
Made that mistake with my 748 years ago, disc went white hot as I was thinking 'jeez this bike feels slow today'! Next think I know I slow to 15 mph where it locks, 10 mins later it had cooled and free'd. I rode home very carefully and ordered some bits!!!!!
