I have just purchased a chain and sprocket kit from Ducati Mondo, just the std 525 kit with 15 tooth front and 39t rear.....I like that setup for around town, I know others prefer the 41.....? Issue I am having is removing the front sprocket, I have my son standing on the rear brake while in first gear and still I cannot crack this from sprocket, tried hitting nut with hammer to see if it would crack under strain with a spanner too........can anyone please confirm that to undo nut it is anti-clockwise, looking at videos on YouTube it does appear to be correct, but couldn’t find anyone doing an 848 to be sure ?
Nut thread is standard - anti-clockwise to undo. I use an electric impact gun like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Clarke-CEW1000-Electric-Impact-Wrench/dp/B0039BQRUO
Just taken my GPz1100 front sprocket off - its been on there more than 30 years and the engine is out of the bike too... Wooden mallet handle to lock the sprocket and a Makita cordless impact wrench - just under 2 seconds...
