I had the belts changed on my 848 two weeks ago, but have not ridden the bike since riding it back from the dealers. I have gone to start the bike today and it took an age to start and when it finally started it sounded terrible as if its running on one cylinder. I took the bike for a little run to see if would clear and it didn't. Every time I had to slow down and the revs went below 3000 rpm it went back to sounding and running rough, but above 3000 rpm it would run fine. Obviously my first call on Tuesday morning will be with the dealer who done the belts as I have read elsewhere of belts slipping a tooth !!! Gutted as its such a glorious day and I am unable to ride it Any ideas or advice would be much appreciated
Cant see it being the belts,if it runs okay above 3000.Might be something daft, check the plugs.Hopefully its something cheap!.
Could be the Idle Control Valve sticking. It's a PIA to get to as the airbox needs to come off to get at it. Remove and flush through with carb cleaner.
