851 Belt Locking Tool

  1. Yes - use and sell the Thomas Performance Parts one myself. Very easy to use and frees up a pair of hands knowing that the cams will stay in position rather than rotating away under load when trying to fit belts. Not much to them but very handy.

We prefer the TPP one as it's urethane (ie, plastic) rather than aluminium, so it doesn't scratch or mark anything but is strong enough to hold the cam.

  2. cool, that's good enough recommendation! I'll order a couple, one for the 999S I have to do too

  3. Make sure you order the correct ones - the Testastretta engine has a steeper valve angle (testa stretta == narrow head) so the cam gears are closer together than on the 916 desmoquattro head, so they aren't the same item!

  4. thanks! yes, I ordered one of each, one for the 999S and one for the 851
