  1. Those with long memories will remember my 2015 build project, https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/factory-racing-748.21034/. This engine was a 2001, 748RS from the engine allocation for Stuart Easton when he was riding for PBM MonsterMob in 2002. The engine was fully refreshed for the team before the end of the 2002 British Supersport season but was never used. Roll forward 13 years and Moto Rapido carried out full, nut and bolt rebuild, new bearings throughout, balanced crank, super finished gearbox and fitting an EVR 853 conversion kit. Finished engine dyno’ed just over 130 rwhp. I rode the bike for 1 track event at Almeria and 1 track event at Cartagena before I bought a 1098R that supplanted the 853 in my affections. Time moves on and I have more bikes than I have space for.

This sale includes the engine, an unrestricted (55mm) 748R shower, throttle body assembly, a complete 55mm race exhaust (incl straps and carbon heat shield) and a ‘special’ eprom for a 1.6M engine management system.

I still have to collect the parts from their various hidey holes to photograph (although most are pictured in the album here, https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/gallery/albums/748rs-to-853.678/).

I have a 748R frame (incl numbered top yoke), an early mono, alloy subframe and 1098 Showa forks with Ohlins cartridge kit and lower triple clamp. This may be an ideal track bike project for someone.

There is nothing that I can realistically do about delivery/collection until we are released from lockdown so there is plenty of time for people to decide if they are up for a project and to consider an offer. All in, the engine and sundry parts have cost me about £10k. Today, IMO, the engine package is worth to me about £4.5k and the frame and forks are worth to me about £1250.

Given the size and weight of the engine (and other parts if required), it is not practical for me to consider sending outside mainland UK unless the buyer arranges for their own transport/courier.
