899 899 & 1199 Termis "not For Road Use" Stamp?

  1. Are all termis on an 899 or 1199 stamped "Not for Road use"? I am after an 1199 at Snels Ducati but can't insure it with the Titanium Termi end cans. The dealler said it is hidden behind the fairings so will be fine for MOT, no good for insuring though. Was hoping to make a deal today but have backed off now.

The 899 promotion at the moment is with free Termis fitted, are these road legal?

Maybe the 1199 I want to buy is different to the ones fitted on an 899?

  2. Read the document with the cans or ask dealer to. They are generally e marked for road use with baffles in.

  3. UPDATE:

I asked the dealer to check the 1199 termis for me again, turns out there is NO "not for road use" stamps on it, just a "Not for highway use" which relates to America so not related to UK.

Great I said, so that means they must be road legal then, to which he replied they are technically not road legal as the documentation with the pipes says not for road use.

So hopefully all the ones fitted on the 899 range has an e-mark and is road legal. Has anyone asked the dealership if they are? I got the inpression that technically the documentaion suggests they aren't really.
